Report 8th August 2012 weekly stock 500 Season 18100 Clywedog is probably enjoying one its best ever seasons we have not had a hatch of fly like the current cow dung fly hatch before they have been coming off daily in good numbers. Today i whitnesed on of the best hatches ever the top end of the lake especially the bigga arm was alive with fish feeding hard on the abundant supply of food. The good fishing is not just confined to the boats as can be the norm during the summer months this year the bank anglers to have enjoyed some excellent sport with fish feeding in tight along the banks especially the bigga arm, gronwen areas aswell as the popular side. The start of a flying ant fall started today so i would expect thease to last fro the next 3-4 days and the fish will feed realy hard on thease in the late afternoons. This week the best methods have been dries in the form of cow dung and hoppers or nymphs fished slowly. I do see anglers catching the occational fish on a boobie when im checking permits around the banks which realy does surprise me. Areas Boats Bigga arm, Gronwen to carters all along the popular side and cages Bank Bigga arm, Gronwen, Popular side and rainbow corner. Methods Dries Cow dung imitations, hoppers and nymphs Tightlines Russ www.clywedogtroutfishng.com
